From today until 31 December 2020, HomeBuilder will provide all eligible owner-occupiers with a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home. Construction must be contracted to commence within three months of the contract date.
Owner-builders and those seeking to build a new home that will be used as an investment property, or renovate an existing home that is an investment property, are not eligible for HomeBuilder. You don’t need to be a first home buyer to access the grant, however, HomeBuilder is not available for investment properties. Your State or Territory revenue office will require certain documents to process your application, and these can be found on their relevant sites.
