What makes an award-winning builder? | Learn the 7 things that set them apart

September 17, 2020

Choosing the right builder for your home is one of the most important decisions you will make. It is important to find someone who not only understands your vision but will ensure that all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed. As with most things, the devil is in the detail. As an award-winning Sydney home builder, we pride ourselves on mastering the detail – both the design and technology. The Master Builders Association of NSW awards is highly contested in all sectors, and represent excellence in construction, workmanship, innovation and dedication. It’s one of the industry’s oldest award programs. Here is what sets us apart from the rest:

Site Inspection

We assess the land slope, lot shape, tree and services locations along with reviewing the best access point for tradespeople and deliveries.

Home design

A wide range of home designs makes choosing the right house simpler. Our in-house building designers can help you narrow down your floor plan and design options. This is done not just through your aesthetic taste, but also your lifestyle, values, the reason you are building and your goals for the future. This over the course of multiple meetings.

The final design, including a full set of detailed floor plans and elevations and a 3D visualisation, gives you a well-rounded visual representation of your new home.

Clear costings

Using the information we have sourced from external consultants, we gather all the necessary quotes and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to provide you with accurate and detailed construction costings for your home.

Council submission

On approval of your home construction tender, we move into the building agreement and council submission stage. Everything relating to the construction of your new home will be outlined in both the construction drawings and building contract, and submitted for construction approval. We also work to obtain all necessary documents ready to submit your application to both your local council and private certifiers. These documents include full Hydraulic Engineering Designs, Structural Engineering Plans, Energy Efficiency reports (BASIX), bushfire reports, acoustic reports and landscaping plans.

Internal and external finishes

Together with your expert designers, you pick and choose your products, finishes and colours that express the style and design you want in your new home. These include:

  • Door finishes and fixtures
  • Kitchen finishes and fixtures
  • Kitchen appliances
  • Skirting, Architrave and Cornice
  • Internal and External Paint colours
  • Light fittings
  • Power points
  • Cladding profile
  • Window colours
  • Roof finishes
  • Shower Screen design
  • Flooring options
  • Staircase design

Construction

This is the most active stage of all and begins with a pre-construction meeting with your Project Manager onsite to go over your construction process and schedule. During the construction of your home, you will be provided with progress updates and photographs. You will also have full access to your Project Manager at all times to ask any questions or request any information.

The Final Handover

A final handover meeting will be arranged once construction has been completed. Here you are walked through your new home, to inspect the workmanship and learn how your new appliances work. Keys along with copies of all your warranty documents are handed over at this stage, and you have a 90-day maintenance period to attend to any issues.

Building homes to the highest quality standards and industry best practices, and providing exceptional customer service, is what we are known for throughout the industry. Contact us today to experience award-winning builder experience yourself.
